As part of CHANNELLED, we present CHANNELLED: CYPRUS — Women Artists of the Island. This chapter turns to the island’s contemporary art scene, bringing together nine women artists from different generations and cultural backgrounds. Across two floors, the exhibition moves from a wider exploration of women’s experiences in Cyprus to an intimate dialogue between mother and daughter.
CHANNELLED: CYPRUS — Women Artists of the Island
On the ground floor, painting, sculpture, textile and other artistic practices offer different ways of seeing and understanding the island. The artists explore memory, identity, the body, nature and belonging, connecting personal experience with the world around them.
Together, their works form a layered portrait of contemporary Cyprus. Each artist brings her own perspective, allowing different histories, experiences and artistic languages to meet. The idea at the heart of CHANNELLED takes shape through these encounters: artists become channels between the personal and the collective, memory and the present.
