Through carefully curated exhibitions, historical and contemporary works enter into dialogue across time, revealing connections between different artistic movements, ideas and generations.

Each exhibition is built around a distinct curatorial question, combining works from the collection with contemporary art and selected Cypriot artists within a broader international context.

Our Mission

XeniArtSpace is a private art institution founded in Limassol, Cyprus, around a private collection that has gradually evolved into a platform for public dialogue.

The collection brings together art of the early 20th century and the 21st century. Its historical foundation includes works associated with Art Nouveau, Impressionism, Expressionism, Fauvism, the Nabis and the avant-garde, while in recent years the collection has increasingly expanded towards contemporary art.

Rather than separating historical and contemporary art, XeniArtSpace places them in dialogue. Exhibitions are developed around a central curatorial idea, bringing works from different periods and artistic movements together to reveal unexpected connections and new perspectives.

Alongside works from the collection, XeniArtSpace incorporates selected contemporary Cypriot artists into its exhibition programme, placing the local artistic scene within a broader international context.

XeniArtSpace is not conceived as a traditional commercial gallery. It is a space where a private collection becomes the starting point for carefully constructed curatorial projects, research and public engagement.

Behind XeniArtSpace is a close-knit team

united by a shared passion for art and a commitment to creating a new cultural destination in Cyprus —
a place for discovery, exchange and dialogue around art. Where a Private Collection Becomes Public Dialogue.

Our Founder

Xenia Kulbachevskaya is the founder of XeniArtSpace, a collector and curator whose practice has developed from a long-standing engagement with art and collecting.

Following a family tradition and a lifelong interest in art, she studied at the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after Surikov, graduating as an artist. She began her professional career in interior design, where working with art and selecting works for interiors gradually became an increasingly important part of her practice.

Over time, this engagement evolved into collecting. Her collection was initially formed around early 20th-century art, with a particular interest in Art Nouveau, Impressionism, Expressionism, Fauvism, the Nabis and the avant-garde. In recent years, its focus has increasingly expanded towards contemporary art and significant artists of the 21st century.

This evolution from collecting to curating led to the creation of XeniArtSpace in Limassol. Rather than presenting the collection as a static body of works, Kulbachevskaya uses it as the foundation for exhibitions built around specific themes and curatorial questions.

Her curatorial approach is based on creating dialogue between different periods, artistic movements and generations. Historical works are placed alongside contemporary art, allowing connections between the early 20th century and the present to emerge beyond traditional chronological boundaries.

As founder, collector and curator of XeniArtSpace, Xenia Kulbachevskaya continues to develop the collection and the institution as an evolving platform for exhibitions, research and dialogue.
